In my final semester at Ringling College of Art and Design, I wrote and illustrated Budding Emotions, a 40-page book that follows a girl with a garden in her mind. Every memory plants a seed, some blooming into beautiful flowers, others forming dark and tangled weeds. When the weeds start to take over her garden, she must learn what it takes to have all the plants, beautiful and ugly, coexist.
